Our Story

Stargazing Spain began as a simple idea: to create a reliable, informative resource for anyone who wants to experience the night sky from one of Europe's finest astronomical regions. Spain's unique combination of clear skies, high-altitude terrain, world-class observatories, and strong dark sky protection makes it an unparalleled destination for astronomical tourism.

We noticed that while there was plenty of technical information available for professional astronomers, practical, accessible guides for visitors and enthusiasts were harder to find. Our goal was to bridge that gap, producing detailed yet approachable content that helps people plan meaningful stargazing experiences across the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands.

What We Cover

Our articles focus on practical, experience-based content that readers can actually use. We visit the locations we write about, verify the details we share, and update our guides regularly as conditions and facilities change. Our primary areas of coverage include:

  • Observatory guides with visitor information and tour details
  • Dark sky reserve reviews with travel logistics and best viewing spots
  • Seasonal sky guides for the Iberian Peninsula
  • Equipment recommendations for different experience levels
  • Astrophotography tips tailored to Spanish locations

Every piece of content is written with care for accuracy and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. We believe that understanding the night sky enriches our connection to the natural world, and we want to help as many people as possible have that experience.
